PASTOR CYNTHIA S. MEYER
I’ve served the UMC for twenty years, including work in campus ministry and theological education. I’m excited to begin my second year as Pastor with the community of disciples at Atchison United Methodist Church. I’m particularly interested in taking the church into the world and in ways to integrate diverse worship styles and traditions in ways that beautifully express our faith and help us to encounter God no matter our age or background. I believe that each congregation should be involved in the larger community so am active in the Ministerial Alliance and serve on the boards of the Atchison Hunger Task Force, Atchison Habitat for Humanity and the All Faith Counseling Center. My denominational involvements include the Topeka District Leadership Team and the Kansas East Conference Board of Ordained Ministry. I enjoy reading, exploring nature and antique shops and used bookstores, and spending time with my teenage daughter.
